Every written work is different, so the editing is different too.  At Bear Press we price each job individually, while striving to make our prices clear and fair.  The most important question in pricing is: How long is the work?  That is why we ask how many words you have.  Most word processing programs have a function in the "Tools" menu to help determine this.  If the work is typewritten, the typical double-spaced page contains from 250 to 300 words.

Evaluation:
A 1,000-word essay pointing out the most important strengths and weaknesses of a work. A good way to learn where a work stands.

Critique:
A 1,000-2,000 word essay pointing out strengths and weaknesses, along with highlighted text, specific suggestions and examples of solutions. An excellent tool for revision.

Line Edit: 
Line-by-line editing, which includes straightening out syntax, correcting grammar and spelling, cutting, and occasionally rewriting. Often the last step.

Critique & Line Edit: 
A critique, then revisions by the author, followed by a line edit of the revision.  A complete editing package.

Rewriting:
Using a text as the primary source, and completely rewriting the work.  A great business tool.

Ghostwriting:
Interviewing the subject, researching sources, and writing the work from the client's point-of-view.
